We lost one of our own.

Earlier this month, we lost Ed Robinson, author of the Meade Breeze Trawler Trash Series. Ed learned that he had cancer and passed away days after the diagnosis. He left behind his wife Kim and a legacy of being not only a prolific writer of fiction, but an adventurer who touched the lives of many people. I first started reading Ed’s books several years ago and he was one of my inspirations to write. If you would like to help Kim, you can donate to her GoFundMe page or read one of Ed’s many books. Ed’s Amazon Page

What you can look forward to next year!

2021 promises to be a big year in my publishing. So far, I’ve tried to put out three books a year in the Ryan Weller Thriller Series. Next year looks to be on track for that same plan with Dark Prey, Dark Fraud, and Dark Drone. But I also plan to release some books that I’ve had sitting on my hard drive. They’re not doing me any good there, so I want you guys to read them. The first is Liberty Brigade (this title is subject to revision). It is a militia conspiracy thriller about militias rising up in an attempt to retake the U.S. government. The second release is called Stuntman (also subject to revision). I wrote this book over a year ago and he needs to tell his story. I am currently working on a follow up book to make this a series about, you guessed it, a stuntman. I equate him to a Jack Reacher on a motorcycle but with a lot more sarcasm and attitude. While Ryan is in Wilmington, NC, in Dark Prey, he works with one of his childhood friends, Kyle Fowler, who is a detective for the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Department. Kyle will get his own spinoff series as well.

Dark Prey is one of my favorite books, because I got to know Ryan a lot better as I was writing his character and how he interacted with his two best friends from high school and his current crop of friends and family. His character and what makes him tick crystalized more in my mind and I hope in yours as well when you read the book. The plan is to get it out in late January, early February, depending on when the editor finishes. (he has it now). Then he’ll work on Liberty Brigade, Stuntman, and Dark Fraud should be written by then.

I have a whole list of personal goals to accomplish as well, outside of the writing. My 45th year promises to be a good one.

Dark Prey

An old friend … A new enemy … Another chance to serve

While spending time in Wilmington, North Carolina, visiting parents, Ryan Weller receives a call from Chad, a man he grew up with and who is now in deep with a local loan shark. Unable to turn a blind eye to his friend’s plight, Ryan dives in to help.

To rescue Chad, Ryan goes head-to-head with the shark, dismantling his businesses as he goes. As things spiral out of his control, Ryan knows he must protect himself and his friends, but that’s easier said than done when the police arrest Chad, and kidnappers brazenly snatch his mother off the street.

The only way to get her back is to do the shark’s bidding and find a treasure lost on the bottom of the ocean. That is until the shark disappears. Can Ryan save the woman he considers a second mother before she, too, vanishes forever?

(I promise to work on this and make it better)

What I’m Reading

Traveling from one epic adventure to the next on board their sturdy Amel sailboat, Glen and Julie immerse themselves deeply into islands and cultures that are so off-the-beaten path you will reach for an atlas to find places like Bequia, the San Blas Islands, Niue…  From dodging voodoo curses in the Bahamas to clawing their way out of underwater caverns in the South Pacific, Glen and Julie take the reader along for the adventure of a lifetime.

Escape From the Ordinary

What I’m Watching

I’m not in the truck as often as I used to be so I’m not burning through the audio books. I’m still stuck in the Jack Mar’s Agent Zero Series. So I figured I’d tell you about this show on Netflix about Richard Jewell, the man accused of bombing the 1996 Olympic games and the hunt for the real bomber, Eric Rudolph. The story has been changed a bit by Netflix but contains lots of tension and drama.

Escape From the Ordinary

As always thanks for reading the Ryan Weller Thriller Series. If you love the books as much as I do, please leave me a review on Amazon!
